TAG | Wider Shoes
If you are one of the many people that are blessed with wide feet then you know how hard it is to find a decent pair of shoes that fits properly. This can be worse for a woman who loves wearing high heels. Many times the wide shoe brands are too wide and the normal sizes are too tight. This can be very frustrating. You find yourself purchasing the same shoes that you know will fit perfectly. This does not leave for a good deal of diversity in the shoes you wear. You can gain some girth in your tighter shoes if you use a shoe stretcher.
The problem is shoe stretchers look some type of medieval torture devices and many people are intimated by them. While this may seem amusing, it is really sad that most people will pass up on a great pair of shoes that are a little tight because they do not know how to use a two way shoe stretcher.
It is not difficult at all to stretch shoes out so that they fit better. You just need a couple of items and a bit of patience. The first item you need is shoe stretchers. You can chose from two way shoe stretchers, women’s shoe stretchers and high heel shoe stretchers for those ladies who need to stretch their heels or pumps.
You will also need shoe stretcher spray. This spray will help to loosen the leather of the shoes and it will aid in the stretching process. You can stretch shoes without it, but the process will go much quicker when you are using this spray.
The first thing you want to do is decide exactly where in the shoe that you need more room. Are you toes wider than your arch? Do you need more room in the heel? Do you have a corn or a bunion that you would like to make room for so that there will be no more pain? When you have figured out where you want to stretch the shoes, you can move on to the next step.
Take the shoe stretcher and make sure that it will fit inside the shoe comfortably before you begin the stretching process. If you need to make room for corns or bunions, put the inserts in the appropriate area of the stretcher. Use the spray and spray the inside of the shoe according to the directions on the package.
Put the shoe stretcher back in and work the screw mechanism until you feel some resistance. Keep turning once or twice until it takes more pressure to twist it. Do this for any area that you want to make wider. Let the shoes sit for a day or two. Take out the stretcher and see if they are loose enough. If they are not, repeat the process until they fit perfectly.
One tip, do a little at a time. You can always make them looser, but once they are too loose, there is no coming back. That is all there is to using a shoe stretcher. It is not as hard as you thought, is it?
